Large Chamber Plasma Systems | Plasma Technology

Diener offers many different large chamber plasma systems.  These systems are great for serial production.  A large chamber plasma system is also important to have for larger sized parts that need to be treated.  Applications include:

  • Degreasing / cleaning
  • Photoresist ashing
  • Hydrophilization
  • Hydrophobization
  • Oleophobization
  • Powder treatment
  • Printing pre-treatment
  • Bonding pre-treatment
  • Painting pre-treatment
  • Soldering pre-treatment
  • Molding pre-treatment
  • Casting pre-treatment
  • Gluing pre-treatment

Large Chamber Plasma Systems

Large chamber plasma systems are currently used in numerous industries for a variety of plasma applications and their use is rapidly expanding as the technical hurdles that large systems present are surmounted. Large chamber plasma systems are clean and efficient as they require no wet chemicals. In large scale manufacturing, plasma systems greatly reduce the risk and waste associated with wet-chemical processes. As better vacuum pump technology and chamber materials are developed, the capabilities of large plasma treatment systems will continue to grow to meet the ever growing number of plasma applications.

Large Chamber Plasma Systems

Today’s large chamber plasma systems are used in the aircraft and automotive industries to plasma clean and activate large parts prior to coating. Plasma systems are also used extensively in alternative energy component manufacturing. For example, in the mobile electric power industry plasma systems are used to clean and activate large power management components such as printed circuit boards. Plasma systems are also used extensively in solar cell manufacturing.

Plasma Technology

Plasma technology is a rapidly growing field, particularly in North America where relatively lax environmental laws and general unfamiliarity regarding treatment with plasma have left our use of plasma technologies far behind that of Europe. Batch plasma treatment systems are also becoming increasingly better adapted to in-line manufacturing and are thus meeting less resistance from part processors accustomed to in-line processing.

Plasma Technology

Plasma technology can be used to meet a variety of objectives including plasma cleaning, plasma coating, plasma activating, plasma etching and plasma polymerization. Treatment with plasma is also becoming more wide spread in areas not historically associated with plasma. Some of these areas include plasma treatment of textiles and powders.
