Plasma polymerization is a coating method that involves the polymerization of organic molecules in plasma and their deposition on a substrate’s surface. Saturated compounds can be polymerized by plasma too; this is due to the fact that it is initiated by the cleavage of chemical bonds in the monomer molecules. Plasma polymerization applications include barrier layers, hydrophilic layers, and hydrophobic layers. These desired attributes can be achieved by coating with one of our Diener plasma systems.
