The ** plasma cleaning**  of  **plastics**  is always  **accompanied**  with the  **activation**  of the plastic. If a plastic is really  **only to be cleaned ** and not activated, the  **process parameters**  simply have to be  **reduced**  until the  **desired**  effect is achieved. It must be considered whether the  **mere cleaning of**  a workpiece is **sufficient** for the subsequent processes  .

Technical **oxygen** is usually used as the  **process gas ** ,  but **room air is ** often sufficient  ; dry and oil-free compressed air is usually used for atmospheric pressure **plasma ** . The plasma treatment can be repeated and there are ** no toxic fumes** .** **

The principle corresponds to the plasma cleaning of metals.
