Plasma Surface Technology

 
Plasma surface technology is a rapidly growing industry. The main applications for plasma come in the form of modifying surfaces of various materials to enhance or improve their functionality. Plasma surface technology has the ability to change the surface of materials on the microscopic level, giving them different characteristics. One method that plasma surface technology can employ to change a surface’s traits is called micro-sandblasting. This is where the plasma bombards ions at the surface. This plasma treatment is used to clean and activate surfaces. Other surface technology methods include using the ionized gas to create a chemical reaction on the surface, and using UV radiation to break down long-chain complex carbon compounds.
