Thierry Plasma LLC is among the top suppliers of plasma systems. What makes us so special: all plasma systems are customizable according to each customer’s needs. Plasma treatment is used in many industry branches such as the automobile, packaging, life science or energy industry and belongs to the technologies with enormous future potential. But what exactly is plasma and how does plasma technology work?
Plasma is excellent when pointedly merging materials or modifying surface properties of materials on a molecular level. Plasma technology can be applied in numerous fields with the number growing as technology proceeds. There are two different systems within this field of technology:
Here, gas is put into a vacuum chamber and induced by energy to transform into plasma with which surfaces are modified. Cleaning, activating, (reactive ion) etching and coating of two- and three-dimensional parts, even powder, are the effects that are possible in this plasma technology. Micro-sandblasting with ions ablates surfaces, ionized gas reacts in specific chemical ways with an objects surface while UV rays break long-chain carbon compounds. A variation of the process parameters (pressure, time, etc.) changes the operating principle of the plasma.
In this system, gas is stimulated by high voltage under atmospheric pressure and therefore ignited. The plasma is then emitted through the tubes and nozzles by compressed air. In the plasma ray, there are reactive particles that activate and fine clean surfaces. The grade of cleaning with plasma is relatively high since dirt particles are converted into their gas phases and blown away. Metal, plastic, glass and ceramic can be cleaned, activated, pretreated, coated, etc. with atmospheric-pressure plasma in different ways, depending on the exact surface material.
In all of North America, Thierry Plasma offers customized solutions for plasma systems depending on your company’s needs. Special devices for low-pressure plasma technology are built modularly and interchangeably regarding the field of application. Over 200 parts are customizable, there are only a few exceptions. Systems for atmospheric plasma applications are much less modular though. Inform us about your projects you need plasma systems for, including the amount of materials to be treated and their average size, in order for us to build your customized plasma system. Since we design and optimize our products from a user point of view, Thierry Plasma has experience in the actual use of the products thanks to a fully functional laboratory. We are distribution partners of Diener Electronics, an innovative company and market leader in producing plasma units, and full-service supplier for our customers.
Thierry Plasma is dedicated to creating and delivering surface modification solutions. Our full-service staff is committed to providing complete solutions from start to finish. Before you buy or rent (you can even rent before you buy) a plasma system, we will help you with plasma process development. Contract service is also a viable option in many circumstances.
