The plasma cleaning of plastics is always accompanied with the activation of the plastic. If a plastic is really only to be cleaned and not activated, the process parameters simply have to be reduced until the desired effect is achieved. It must be considered whether the mere cleaning of a workpiece is sufficient for the subsequent processes .
Technical oxygen is usually used as the process gas , but room air is often sufficient ; dry and oil-free compressed air is usually used for atmospheric pressure plasma . The plasma treatment can be repeated and there are no toxic fumes .
