Hydrophilic

Hydrophilic

Hydrophilic (water loving) surfaces have an affinity for water and are adhesive. Thierry plasma units can be used to produce extremely hydrophilic surfaces

Hydrophilic is the physical property of a molecule that has a tendency to interact with or be dissolved by water (or other polar substances). These molecules are capable of hydrogen bonding and are typically charge-polarized. Polar and non-polar molecules are known to be hydrophilic and hydrophobic, respectively. Making a material accept water can be achieved by cleaning and activating or by coating. With a low pressure plasma system from Diener, this can be easily achieved.
